BUILT TO LAST

Quality aluminium is highly durable and built to last. Unlike uPVC, which may warp or fade over time, aluminium maintains its shape and colour. It is also corrosion and UV-resistant, which protects it in rural and urban environments wherever you are in the UK.

All windows and doors need care, but aluminium is a very low maintenance material. With a few simple maintenance checks and the occasional cleaning with warm water, your new or replacement aluminium window or door can enjoy a long product lifespan.

Keeping your home's aluminium windows and doors looking their best

MAINTAINING YOUR WINDOWS AND DOORS

FRAMES & HANDLES

Wipe down the frames and handles with a soft cloth every three months to remove dirt or grime. Use warm, soapy water and avoid abrasive chemicals. This simple maintenance routine will help your frames look their best for longer.

GLAZING

The inside and outside of the glass should be cleaned more frequently as required. Standard glass cleaners and a soft lint free cloth work best when cleaning glazing. Homes in exposed or coastal areas may require more frequent cleaning.

HINGES AND LOCKS

All hinges and locks should be lubricated every one to two years to ensure continued smooth operation. Clean away dirt or debris from the window hinge and track before cleaning for maximum results.

CHECKING SECURITY

We recommend checking the tightness and security of all fixings as required. If you have any concerns about the security of your windows and doors, our team at Endurance Aluminium can provide expert advice and solutions.

Want to know more?

How often should I clean my window?

We’d recommend cleaning your frames and handles from top to bottom once every three to four months.

What type of cleaner should I use?

Warm soapy water on it’s own will work best for cleaning the frame and handles of your window or door. It’s important to avoid abrasive chemicals as these may cause damage to the powder coated finish. Standard glass cleaner is safe to use when cleaning the glazed areas of your window or door.

Does the hardware need specialist maintenance?

No. All hinges and locks should only need simple lubrication every one to two years, and this can be achieved at home without the need for any specialist maintenance.

Will I need to clean my window or door more if I live in a coastal area?

Yes. If you live in a coastal or exposed area, we’d advise significantly more cleaning and maintenance to keep your window or door looking its best.
